This smoothie is substantial enough for a meal, or divide it into 2 servings for a delicious snack.  Cacao will not only satisfy your chocolate craving, but it will also provide you with a hefty dose of vitamins and minerals.  As if I needed more reasons to eat chocolate?!

Chocolate Blueberry Smoothie Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen spinach
  • 1/2 fresh or frozen zucchini
  • 2-3 TBSP raw cacao powder
  • 1 TBSP hemp hearts
  • 2 TBSP almond butter
  • 1/2 – 1 cup almond milk
  • Optional toppings: cacao nibs, pumpkin seeds, granola

Directions

Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth.  Start with 1/2 cup almond milk, and add more as needed.  Add toppings, if desired.
